Our Kids’ Top Ten Activities To Do On Holiday In Aberporth!

We have been holidaying as a family in Aberporth for years. To help our younger guests make an informed choice when it comes to deciding on the perfect activity for every type of weather, we asked our girls aged 10, 6 and 2 to tell us their favourite things to do in Aberporth and the local area.

Crabbing

Gwbert, New Quay Harbour or Aberaeron Harbour all have lots of crabs and they really love raw bacon!

Aberporth Playground

Opposite the village shop you will find the park which also has a small football pitch. We love having this so close to us.

Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park

Something for all of us. Great play park with café, a farm where you can feed the animals and even some seal spotting if you are lucky. We have seen them there most times we have visited, down on the rocks.

The Yum Yum Shop

The best place in West Wales! A sweet shop that has every sweet in the world located on Cardigan high street.

Theatr Mwldan

On a rainy day we love to go to the cinema in this little theatre in Cardigan. Check the website for opening times.

Aberaeron Fish & Chips

We love visiting the harbour of Aberaeron and having fish and chips as a treat on the seafront. It’s always a tough choice to make between fish and chips or Nutella waffles from the waffle and ice-cream parlour, which you can find on the high street.

Toasting marshmallows at sunset on Penbryn Beach

It’s a walk from the car park down to the beach along a single track but it’s worth it!

Body boarding and paddle boarding

Aberporth or Tresaith beaches are the best! Mwnt beach is also great for body boarding and playing in the estuary.

Coastal Walk To Tresaith

We can walk from Aberporth to Tresaith along the coastal path. If the tide is far out enough we love going around to see the waterfall.

Dolphin & Seal Watching

We love looking for dolphins and seals! We have seen them so far in Aberporth, Tresaith, Penbryn, New Quay, Gwbert and Cymtydu! We love trying to take photos and videos of them but it is hard to get a good photo as they are so quick! If you see them please share your photos as we would love to see them!
