Eating Out In & Around Aberporth
There are numerous places to enjoy good food and drink in the village of Aberporth, and its neighbouring towns which are just a short drive away. We’ve listed our favourites in one place so that you have a handy reference guide as to what’s accessible to you when you stay at 2 Headland Place, Aberporth.
Cwtch Café
One of the first buildings that you will notice as you step out onto the Green, Cwtch Café is an eye-catching collection of beautiful blue beach huts high above the bay. Great for salads, light lunches, ice-creams, coffee and snow cones (our kids’ favourites). Sometimes closed during winter months or during bad weather. Look out for the sign and keep an eye on their Facebook page for the latest updates.
The Ship Inn, Aberporth
Situated right above Dyffryn beach, with a traditional bar and additional dining rooms with views overlooking the sea. Offering classic real ales, a wide choice of beers and ciders together with a comprehensive wine menu.
The Boy Ashore
Aberporth’s very own rustic beach shack food and takeaway bar opens in peak season. Licensed & serviced village restaurant serving local produce in an imaginative way, you can order in person or via their App if you don’t fancy leaving the comfort of your beach towel for more than a few moments! Café Driftwood
Situated in the village of Aberporth this dog friendly café serves breakfast, light bites, lunch and delicious cakes! A bright outside decking area means you can still embrace the salty sea air even when you head inland into the village. Take away also available.
Water’s Edge Café
As its name implies, Water’s Edge serves coffees, ice-creams and snacks with a picture perfect view of Aberthporth beach. You will find it situated above the furthest bay. Seasonal opening times, please check website for further information.
Caffi Sgadan Fish & Chips
Great beach side fish and chips with regular specials available. Enjoy with the wonderful views!
Pizza Tipi, Cardigan
Run by four brothers, this tipi restaurant serves stone-baked handmade pizzas, breads, delicious appetisers and sweets. Not to mention great coffee, welsh craft beers & wine in a riverside courtyard, next to the roar of the fires in the evening. An absolute must-visit.
Cliff Hotel & Spa, Gwbert
Serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon and evening dining, using fresh local ingredients and with panoramic views of the Ceredigion coastline.
Crwst, Cardigan
Fantastic brunch and great selection of handmade pastries, cakes and baked goods to eat in or takeaway. The kids brunch menu is excellent.
Teifi Waterside Hotel
Recently re-launched under new ownership, this is a great bar and restaurant. There’s a beautifully appointed beer garden with stunning views over Poppit and Gwbert and an outdoor children’s play area. Sunday Lunch is great, as is the evening bar menu.
Plwmp Tart, Penbryn
The Plwmp Tart is located just 5 mins walk from Penbryn, a National Trust owned beach. Serving light lunches, home baked cakes & great coffee this café is a lovely lunch stop. Seasonal opening times.
Yr Hen Printworks, Cardigan
Small plates / tapas bar restaurant. Gorgeous setting for an evening out approx. 15mins drive from 2 Headland Place.
Harbourmaster, Aberaeron
A beautiful place for dinner situated on the picturesque harbour of Aberaeron. The main restaurant is more formal but there is also a bar area that serves food with a more relaxed vibe. You can choose to eat in either area but you will need to pre-book. Also a lovely place to go for breakfast or coffee and cake during the day, or even just a drink on the harbour side.
The Bluebell Deli & Bistro
A lovely licensed café and deli on the front of New Quay harbour. Great for an informal lunch stop or drinks at sunset!
The Cellar, Aberaeron
Good for an evening out or for a relaxed breakfast. A lovely restaurant serving local Welsh produce.
Cardigan Castle, Cegin 1176
Within the grounds of the castle, Cegin 1176 is a café and restaurant combining locally sourced produce with stunning views and contemporary design.
The Ship Inn, Tresaith
The Ship Inn at Tresaith, a short walk along the coastal path from Aberporth, offers a fantastic menu and seafood specials with sea views from the beachfront beer garden and terrace. In Winter you can relax in front of the log fire in the cosy bar area.
